Take a look at BlueJ project at Monash University in Australia.

Do have to warn you that while BlueJ downloaded, seemed to start up, accepted code, and compiled just fine, I had trouble getting anything to run. (On the other hand, I barely read any of the instructions...)

In BlueJ, there is no 'Run' function, because you can individually run all public constructors and methods.

Ctrl-click on a class icon, and you can construct objects and run static methods. Once an object is constructed, Ctrl-click the object icon to invoke methods.
