Anyone having a feeling in what direction to go when choosing java IDE for the Mac???

I've been experimenting with moving from vim/linux to some undecided ide/osx. Used to use Linux VisualAge for Java until IBM reneged on support.

I gave eclipse a good shot but finally gave up. It crashes on the least provocation, and generally felt unwieldy and slow.

Since upgrading to 10.2, I've started experimenting with Apple's developer tools. Reasonably impressed so far. Only real complaint is that its really hard to install it on a 2gb root partition. Main fear is the fear that I'm giving up cross-platform compatibility. Haven't used it enough to be sure.
