Anyone having a feeling in what direction to go when choosing java IDE for the Mac???_______________________________________________
Have been using IDEA eap's up to build 629. Now turning on new projects hopefully start using jdk 1.4.1 dps and the best IDE :)
And of course the ones I'm looking at is IDEA and Eclipse. IDEAs feature list is impressive and they have a really neat editor working with. But Eclipse is coming up regarding features (I think) but it looks a bit big...
What are your opinions? Don't only look at how it has been but more on the coming future - what will be the best to stick with?
My preferences are:
* Code and keyboard centric - love IDEA
* Fast - Eclipse looks good
* No memory hug - any difference?
* Listen to Mac OS X users - this is really important... Will really Intellij do that?
* Not to expensive - free is best but not a religion
What I'm doubting about IDEA (among other things):
- Mac OS X support
- Slower and slower
- Price
What I'm doubting about Eclispe (among other things):
- Stability
- Looks like a lot of mouse clicking...
- Hurray - I could enter [] but still not {} (Swedish keyboard) - But still better than IDEA where I still have to switch keyboard language temporary :(
