Simple SSL problem

Hello,
Can anyone give me advice on what I am doing wrong. I usually only see this error when it is not installed correctly. However, I thought JSSE was installed by default for OS X.
Why else would I get an implementation not available?

java.net.SocketException: SSL implementation not available
at javax.net.ssl.DefaultSSLSocketFactory.createSocket([DashoPro-V1.2- 120198])
at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol.https.HttpsClient.doConnect([Dasho Pro-V1.2-120198])
at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol.https.NetworkClient.openServer([Da shoPro-V1.2-120198])
