How much heap are setting up for IDEAs JVM? I think the default configured IDEA install is set to top out at 96MB. I had to up it to 256MB to deal with projects I am working on.

To change look for the file that is uses to fire up the JVM (cannot remember its name at the moment) and up the value for -Xmx.
