Invocation API / Painting

I have a shared library (built as a Mach-0 dynamic library) that displays a
swing based GUI for certain tasks...

I can load up the JVM through the invocation API and call the apprporiate
static method to get the thing up and running.

The problem is, that the GUI is not repainted. Is there a problem with my
approach that makes this impossible? What's going on here?
