Is everyone sure that just because Java 1.5 (Tiger) will be included with Mac OS X 10.4 (also Tiger), it won't be offered as a separate download too - even for Panther? After all, Java 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 got to us that way, and they were 38MB and 28MB respectively. (Not a minor thing to offer via the internet.) I can't imagine Apple touting that it's the best Java development platform, and NOT making Java 1.5 available to Panther users and developers. To me, this has nothing to do with incentives to purchasing an operating system, and everything to do with maintaining an image of corporate compatibility.
