Gregory,

The software I'm working on is always going to be compiled against two
versions back of the released version of Java (currently 1.3.x). We do
test against the later releases, just to be sure that new issues
haven't been introduced.

This gives us a wider potential base of customers, which is a good thing.
We don't see the purpose of forcing people to use a new OS/JVM unless
there are compelling features that we haven't needed to date.
