ok, what that means is that you cannot do
% java -server
however my original email proves that it does
why is this ?
because the page you sent the link for is Java 1.3.1 update 1
and my current JVM is 1.4.2_05 which does support the flag
wether it does anything or not is a different matter

it looks like my last reply was a bit hasty

needless to say, this was true as of 1.3.1 but is it still true now ?
