One of our guys noticed that the server VM made a big difference in
our app, so I decided to try it myself. I was shocked at how hard it
is to get the server VM from Sun -- for the Windows platform. I
eventually had to get the whole J2EE and dig around in the installed
app server to find the VM. None of the J2SE installs seem to include
it anymore (I'm pretty sure they used to).
All of the J2SE SDK installers I've tried for Windows include the
Server VM. None of the JRE downloads have included the server VM for
quite some time.
