Hello,

I am having a bit of a problem getting an application that was running absolutely fine on 1.4.2_05 (10.3.8) to run on 1.4.2_07 (10.4.1).

I am seeing (in part) the following in the CrashReporter log and am hoping someone can help me decipher it:
Thread 14 Crashed:
0   libjvm.dylib                       0x96477fa4 JVM_GetSockOpt + 2604
1   libawt.jnilib                      0x9b17b66c -[CMenuItem dealloc] + 104
2   libawt.jnilib                      0x9b17b5f0 -[CMenu dealloc] + 84
3   com.apple.CoreFoundation           0x9072d960 __CFArrayReleaseValues + 436
4   com.apple.CoreFoundation           0x9072d798 __CFArrayDeallocate + 284
5   com.apple.CoreFoundation           0x9072a8d4 _CFRelease + 240
6   com.apple.Foundation               0x92858a88 NSPopAutoreleasePool + 536
7   com.apple.Foundation               0x928886dc __NSFinalizeThreadData + 348
8   libSystem.B.dylib                  0x9002d6d0 _pthread_tsd_cleanup + 104
9   libSystem.B.dylib                  0x9002c418 _pthread_body + 164

the crash happens after I click on a node in a jTree.

I am currently seeing if I can get a smaller demo app together that reproduces the error.

or perhaps this is less a "Java" issue and more an issue with Tiger libraries?

Suggestions?

This is a crash while freeing up an AWT Menu (CMenu is the native peer for a java.awt.Menu.) It's not your fault. You mentioned JTree, so are you also using the screen menu bar? A short-term fix would be to not use it.

File a bug if you have good steps to reproduce.
