Nope. I tried to convert my project to native targets when they were
introduced in Xcode v1.0 (my Cocoa-Java project has started its life
under the "Project Builder" sun…) But I was informed back then that
Java wasn't supported. I didn't try to do so since that day.

Hmm… This should explain why my attempts failed. Thanks for this
additional bit of information; I now know a valid reason why I don't
manage to generate a Universal Binary for my project while I have
absolutely no problem to do so for Cocoa-ObjC.

I was kind of nervous to try this in Xcode v2.1, thinking that you
finally brought me the ultimate step I needed… but it failed for the
exact same reason reported by Xcode v1.0: Java classes are not
supported in native targets, and such a project can't be properly
upgraded :( ! (Note: A new "copied" target was created, but some
additional (blind) attemps with it didn't lead to a Universal Binary
either…)
I think I'll have to wait for some improved support regarding
"Cocoa-Java on Intel"; or either for an official word from Apple if
such a support wasn't to be expected. Do you think I should file a bug
report on Radar?
Thanks for your help. Indeed, if there are more than valid pros for me
to port my project to full Objective-C, I'd however appreciate to know
that's the *sole* remaining solution to catch the Intel train before
invoking such time+efforts ;) !
