I was able to reproduce the crash, but the crash is happening during the conversion of your app's .tiff file to icns format so we can put it in the dock.

Are you sure that BlogEd.tiff is identical in both the version and release directories? If it's somehow corrupt that could crash the Quicktime converter (which is itself a bug, but not in Java Web Start/Cache Viewer.)
