I visited the Java USB API (JSR 80) page recently and noticed that
they've started the final release stage as of June 8. More
intriguing was the inclusion of Apple Computer, Inc. on the Expert
Group list. Does anyone on the list have any insight into this API
and when/if we might see this in an OS X
JRE?
I've recently been working on my first OS X USB project (having
previously worked with USB via javax.usb), and am just getting a
handle on OS X's IOKit APIs, and will hopefully find the time to
start on this project in the next few months.
Sorry for the slow progress on this one -- but for now my other
projects have had to come first :P. If people are sufficiently
driven to get this API ported to OS X and are interested in pitching
in, let me know.
