We are using PNG and JPG images in our application. The intention is that
PNG images are used when alpha channel information is needed, otherwise we
use JPG images. That said, I'm sure there are times when PNG images are
being used without alpha channel information. We have never witnessed the
red/blue swap thus far. Our primary platform is 10.3.4 and up (not
including 10.4.X) and Java 1.4.2 Update 2.
I have been following this post with lots of interest and I thank you for
finding the problem as well as the potential workaround. I'm sure we'll
eventually support 10.4 and it is good to know of potential problems we may
run into.
