You need to set the java home in one of the conf files.

find ~/Desktop/Netbeans.app -name "*.conf"
vi filename.conf

It should be obvious what to change.

But I am finding that at least with the latest NetBeans 6 daily builds there are a few windowing problems... I'll try NB5.5

PS. I am in a cafe where I can't use my personal mail address to post to the list. Please forward if it works.

I just installed Java SE 6.0 (build 1.6.0-dp-b88-34) on my Core 2 Duo MacBook and my code now runs 30% faster!  But I don't know how to make NB run the new JVM without reinstalling.

According to the release note, JIT is currently Intel only, which explains why NB was so slow on my PB G4.

I don't know this for a fact, but I think I heard somewhere (here?) that the JIT in Java 6 for MacOSX/Intel is/will be much better than the JIT in Java 6 for MacOSX/PPC - so I would think it would be worth trying NetBeans (or anything else) on Java 6 on MacOSX/Intel...

6?  This was a big issue for me a few weeks ago on my PowerBook G4,
so I am not sure whether it's worth trying again with my new MacBook
Core 2 Duo.

Thanks, Aeon
