Netbeans crashing with -J-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC JVM switch

Hi,

I've installed the latest J2SE 5.0 release 4 dp 4 on a PowerMac Quad running Mac OS X 10.4.4 and have since been experiencing constant crashes almost immediately after launching the Netbeans 5.0 RC1 IDE. As my netbeans.conf settings haven't changed much in the last year or so and since I'd been using earlier builds of 5.0 with success with J2SE 1.4.2, I was convinced it was a JVM problem.

Anyway, to get straight to the point it appears that the root cause was my inclusion of the -J-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC JVM switch in the netbeans_default_options line of the netbeans.conf file and once removed the IDE became stable once more.

I've raised a bug with Apple, ID 4413936, but can someone else please test this switch setting and report back confirming if it's a general bug or something which needs raising with the Netbeans dev team.
