My understanding may not be exact either but I think this is sort of off. The java VM is based on the Cocoa and related frameworks and will continue to be so indefinitely. Native JNI API's based on Cocoa would certainly be considered supported although there are potential problems with Technical Note documentation to assist in dealing with those. Cocoa Java is not supported as an official API effective now, it is for educational usage only. Although no fixed date for it not shipping has been set it was never added to the default classpath to begin with.
