I'm more than happy with Netbeans.
Due to massive memory leaks when running NetBeans on Mac, I can

debugger.
Am I the only one seeing this?
I have never been forced to shut it down, even if it has more
problems with memory than Eclipse (I've to add that i mostly use
NetBeans5.5beta, maybe there's some fix in it).
I any case, the following options added in .../etc/netbeans.conf
proved to be helpful in increasing performance:
It's to be said that there are alternate sets of options and they
depend on the amount of memory on your system. I recently upgraded my
MacBook Pro from 1GB to 2GB (I need this for Adobe LightRoom and
Parallels) and probably I've to rethink of those options.
As a marginal note, I'd suggest upgrading to 2GB as the system
globally performs much better (I mean, this is obvious, what I want
to say is that it performs much better than I expected after a memory
increase).
