Re: Installing Java 1.4



Hi,

I've tried it with a 1.5 VM and it doesn't like it - it still won't install.

What do you mean Archive and Install? I've tried running the Java 1.3 and 1.4 installer package and it says 1.4 is already installed? Is there a way of getting rid of it first?

It does look like your 1.4.2 JVM is missing some parts. The best way I
know of to restore them is Archive and Install, followed by Software Update.


Before doing that, though, have you tried installing Java Studio Creator to
run with the 1.5 JVM?


The JSC System Requirements for Mac OS X list a 1.5 JVM as an acceptable
version:
