Depending on the version of eclipse you need to be
using Java /j2se 5.0 aka 1.5.0?. There is a way to
point it at the right java which I don't remember but
you can Google it.
Depending on Mac OS X version you can't use JAVA 1.5.0 with GUI. I
think on Mac OS X 10.3 you can't run GUI code depending on JAVA 1.5!
On 10.4 there is no problem with JAVA 1.5.
