A better solution would be for the plugin to detect it is inside

OK, the bug ID is 4487441.  Let's talk about it :-).

If you (or anyone else) has a good lay of the land for FireFox/Camino and can point me to their APIs for accessing cookies, this should be pretty trivial to implement. I also have to detect if the Java Plugin is inside FireFox when it starts up so the right browser service classes can be used. I'm guessing the easiest way to do that is to check what the bundle identifier of the current application is.

Let's start with the cookie API for now.
