Re: Application bundle with Symbolic Link to JavaApplicationStub...

Greg,
After your email I went back and looked a little more into it. When I use the command:
exec /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Resources/MacOS/JavaApplicationStub "$@"
the application bundle will NEVER launch. Nothing shows up in the console and nothing would appear to be wrong otherwise.

However, when I use the script template obtained from your website (http://www.amug.org/~glguerin/howto/More-open-files.html), and do the command:
exec "$here/$cmd" "$@"
the application bundle DOES launch everytime.

So, the conclusion that I can gather is that you will still need to symbolically link the JavaApplicationStub, but with the use of a script similar to what is on Greg's website (http://www.amug.org/~glguerin/howto/More-open-files.html), our desired functionality can be delivered.

Thank you (and all of the other) for the help.
Regards,
Michael

Does anything show up on the system console when it dies? (Console.app)

Any dialogs in Finder?

What are the ownership and permissions of the launch script itself?

When you said "similar", do you mean "exactly like" or did you add, remove,
or change anything at all?
