I don't know.
But Macromedia Studio used to have support for both MDI windows with
dockable palettes and for SDI windows with floating windows in their
products on Windows. There was an option that allowed to switch between the
two windowing styles.
See the following article:

I don't know if this is still the case with current products though.
I tried to work with the SDI & floating approach on Windows, because I was
used with this windowing style on Mac. But I switched over to MDI & dockable
because the handling of SDI & floating style on Windows is awkward for the
following reasons:
- Window layering.
On Mac OS Classic all windows of each application used to be in a layer of
its own, on Mac OS X, Exposee helps to keep all windows of an application
together. On Windows, I always keep searching my application windows.
- The Taskbar/Dock.
On Windows, every open window gets into the taskbar, on Mac OS X only the
application goes into the dock and minimized windows.
Of course, the above points are strongly biased by my former experience.
Also, window handling on Mac OS X is still messy. It sorely lacks
multi-screen support with draggable screens like Amiga OS had.
Just my 2 cents,
-Werner
