Re: Is there a guide to use Java in xcode?

let me add that i use xcode for three or so years and despite the much better support for code control in eclipse, it can have some advantages: the ergonomy of a regular mac app where you can stack dozens of windows without getting claustrophobic (unlike eclipse with its horrible pack-everything-into-one-big-screen-filling-frame philosophy).

otherwise, yes this thread should be stopped immediately. you can check the archives, there was a long thread on the same subject one or two months ago. there you can find all the pro and contra arguments. best, -sciss-

p.s. : however, when we're on the subject ;-))))))) is there a way to get compiler warnings again in xcode. there were lost in some xcode or java update. i mean, it still still says there are warnings but you cannot double click and go straight into the code anymore. i remember this used to work some time before.

Hey guys, let tone it down. There is no reason to start "XCode sucks @ Java" thread. It is not very constructive and bad to our collective karma.

Unless you are planing to use Cocoa, there are no compelling reasons to use XCode for Java development. Try Eclipse or Netbeans. Both work great on Mac OS X and both are much better IDE for Java development.

And that's an understatement!!

I've been searching for a good guide to use Java in xcode to build
Java Swing and web applications.

I'd appreciate any references or help.
