Thread-topic: Are we still being polite about Java 6 ?
Well I believe the reason for the politeness was that it was determined
that the people at Apple that monitor this list have no real control
over the problem. At one time they mentioned an alternate solution, a
way to submit comments to Apple that might make a difference. I don't
remember what it was though.
>From my point of view I shouldn't have to tell Apple how important this
is. If they don't know already then they are more clueless than I had
believed. I do honestly think they are working on it, so in general I'm
not mad about that. The reason I'm mad is that Apple management doesn't
have the basic customer relation skills to know that they should be
telling us what's going on.
I'm in a sticky situation, I have to deploy MacOS versions of our
software whether I like it or not. If Java 6 doesn't make it to the Mac
I can probably work around that. If it continues past that, given the
choice of developing the app in two languages or just dropping the
Mac... well you can guess which one I've already chosen.
