Re: Are we still being polite about Java 6 ?

The best way to develop Java is on Solaris. Use Macs and PCs for testing. Don't use new features of Java until the necessary version appears on all platforms you require. Forget promises of any CEO.

I just use 'terminal' on my Mac to reach my Solaris box. Apple really can't abandon Java without destroying part of their market. They don't have to be quick to release the newest Java goodies. They just have to have a reliable platform on which to run Java applications (and applets).
