Re: Are we still being polite about Java 6 ?

I for one don't want them to think I'm not grateful for their work. But at the same time, they are the Java communities internal ambassadors to the insides of Apple, and I don't want them to think for a second that we're not irritated by the general lack of priority that we've been given after we all handed over our credit cards and jumped on the Apple boat, helping to catapult their stock price to all- time highs, and then the company just turns around and throws us all into the wind.

I don't think that point should be lost on them.

I just wanted to point out something.

Since we're all developers here, I'm pretty sure we all understand the uncomfortable position the Apple Java developers are placed in regarding postings on this particular topic. I have no doubt the Apple Java developers are committed to developing a kick-ass implementation of Java for the Apple platform. They're probably just as frustrated as we are by the corporate policies they have to live by.

Even though I think we all share this sentiment, I wanted to explicitly state this and thank them for their work.

I have a feeling there's a lot in common between the Apple Java developers, and the developers in Microsoft's Macintosh Business Unit. They both do some great work, and are under-appreciated by the general Mac community.
