I hate to say it, but portability aside, ObjC2 is vastly superior a language to Java.

And you can also use RubyCocoa or PyObjC. Ruby and RubyCocoa is pretty cool and you can then use the skills for Ruby on Rails (or Nitro/Og). GC and properties have certainly improved ObjC, but it still has somewhat wacky syntax, whereas Ruby programs are beautiful to look at (no semicolons!).
