| Well, I don't think I'm breaking any NDAs by saying that (on my machine anyway) this DP is absolutely fantastic. The first thing I noticed was that scrolling through source code in Netbeans (which was previously so slow that if I touched the scroll wheel by mistake it would condemn me to 10 frustrating seconds of powerlessly watching text shuffle up the screen) is now as fast as any other native application. The difference is extraordinary. Of course, the most important thing about this release isn't the code itself - I presume this indicates that Apple is still working on Java 6, which is great. As far as I'm concerned I love having this new release, but I would have been nearly as happy with a simple reassuring statement from someone at Apple that it was still being worked on - I would really appreciate it if some of the comments by James Rome about the value of communicating policy to developers were acknowledged. cheers - I'm going back to my gleeful childish scrolling, Josh On 19 Dec 2007, at 05:16, Erik Mattheis wrote:
