| Hi Scott, Sorry for the delayed reply. You are correct. It occurs in Java 5 when starting a Java application using -d64, or using Java 6. Handwriting recognition is on when the bug occurs. I have Leopard 10.5.1 on a 2.4 ghz macbook pro. Turning handwriting recognition off solved the problem for me. It only took about 6 hours to figure this out.
