EOF Exception

whenever i close my applet window, my server app generates this:

java.io.EOFException

at java.io.ObjectInputStream$BlockDataInputStream.peekByte(ObjectInputStream.java:2498)

at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readObject0(ObjectInputStream.java:1273)

at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readObject(ObjectInputStream.java:348)

at com.caribbeancardsonline.allfours.shared.remoting.RemoteEventReciever.run(RemoteEventReciever.java:40)

at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:613)

this happens even if they are on the same machine.

can anyone help?
