There's a specific bug in the bundled XML libraries in 1.5 that is not present in the same libraries in 1.4. This is what I need to work around. It is not a question of source level compatibility. I need to *run* Ant with the Java 1.4 VM. It is not enough to use java 1.5 but tell it to enforce 1.4 source levels.
