Re: Does java run on these new phones (ducking)

I have looked into this a few weeks ago. It does not come with emulators. The emulators are vendor specific. And none supported Mac.There was one that somebody *tried* on a Mac.

This is a tough market that it is kind of secretive. A couple of months ago, I asked in the Sony & Nokia foums if they supported awt.Robot, which is not part of the j2me specificaion, and nobody replied even a beep.

I asked that because it seems logical that some kind of automation will be needed. The power these devices have and the fact that the mobile apps are becoming more complex and will continue to do so will force them to look that way.

There is a J2ME development environment in NetBeans. I don't know how
useful it is: apparently there are not many (or even any?) emulators
which work on the Mac, which limits the Mac as a development platform.

I wonder anyway whether J2ME would be powerful enough for a iPhone or
similar device: my perception of J2ME is that it is dimensioned for
the limitations for olde worlde mobile phones.

Everything has been said before, but since nobody listens we have to keep going back and beginning all over again.
