Re: What happen to Java 6 ?

Another thing worrying me.... No Java exist in Leopard Overview... I
only saw Ruby and Obj-C...

Any ideas ? or any internal news ?

As time goes by hw has become a commodity than anything else.

Who is the hw vendor that can command a hefty premium as 10 years ago?
Average Jane/Joe Doe uses hw mostly because is the only way to run the
software.

So unless Apple wants to develop everything itself: media, office
automation, development tools, business, etc, it will have to rely on third
party software.

And these third party ISVs will try to make a buck too, so why should they
put resources in a platform (Acme Isolationist Computers) when they can
develop for a more ubiquitous platform and get two bucks instead of one?

Of course if Java does not cut it for the third party ISVs, why would Apple
be on that bleeding edge and be caught between Sun and IBM?

They are behind the bleeding edge. I may or may not agree with that but
that's not my call to make

My other 2 cts.
