I was hoping you were going to post a source comment, maybe from a call
origin, that said which JVM it was intended to accomodate.
Or maybe a date when the code as added, to narrow down what it might be
for. If the JVM could be anything, and it might be really old, at least
knowing what it CAN'T be would be useful. For example, if the code was
added in 1999, then it can't have been for any JVM later than that.
I have some archived source from older Mac OS JVM versions, but it would
take some time to grovel through them all. And since your code might not
be for a Mac JVM, but for some other platform with its own quirks, I'm
reluctant to attempt a full-scale search through all my past archives.
Anything you can do to narrow what I have to search would be helpful.
