I run Linux under Parallels on my MacBook Pro, no problem. I have not
tried booting into Linux directly.
There are PPC versions of Linux as well. I believe Debian has one. I
am not sure how good the support is for all the hardware though.

Trying to buy a development machine for Linux (and without Windoze
installed) is proving quite hard (I'm in France)!
Would a Mac run Linux? Any Linux? Would it have to be an intel one?
Suse is the preferred option for Linux flavour, as apparently that's
what the majority of potential users have been given.
With both ADC and MSDN subscriptions I would ideally prefer to get a
machine without any OS pre-installed, but that's like looking for
hen's teeth :(
