I can testify for the joy of using Parallels Desktop for developing
for both Linux and Windows on Mac. Beats separate machine any time.
So much faster. The other OS is there in seconds when you need it,
but not in your way when you don't need it. No need to boot the second
machine and hook it up and what not. You can take snap shots of the
OS which is great in testing. Highly recommended. I've also heard
good testimonials of WMWare, especially the latest editions, but
have no personal experience. I don't think I will ever go back to
having a Linux or Windows box separately. Now all this runs so
conveniently on my MacBook Pro with 2 GHz Dual Core and 2 GB RAM,
and according to my speed tests there is no penalty running those
OSes 'virtualized'.
