So much faster. The other OS is there in seconds when you need it,
but not in your way when you don't need it. No need to boot the second
machine and hook it up and what not. You can take snap shots of the
OS which is great in testing. Highly recommended. I've also heard
good testimonials of WMWare, especially the latest editions, but
have no personal experience. I don't think I will ever go back to
having a Linux or Windows box separately. Now all this runs so
conveniently on my MacBook Pro with 2 GHz Dual Core and 2 GB RAM,
and according to my speed tests there is no penalty running those
OSes 'virtualized'.

Depends on what you're going to test. For instance, if you try OpenGL stuff that relies upon the graphic card and its drivers, I'd say it's not a good idea to test in a virtual box (I mean, I know that Parallel is working also in that side, and I could even imagine that it could provide a direct mapping on OS X drivers and have a hell of a performance, at the point that... it could be even _faster than the native thing_, - but - this is not good for testing :-).
