Re: Apple PLEASE Give JVm to OpenJDK

hi list!
hi robert, hi greg!

i fully agree with robert, although i know that this is the wrong place
to post and complain about. BUT this is the place for java-developers on
the mac platform! why should we post bug-reports about well-known flaws
and issues?
i'm really a bit annoyed, not just about the fact that it takes so long
to get new updates, but about apple's information policy...
we (java developers, who don't attend the ADC and similar 'events') just
don't know, what's happening, or if something is happening at all! it's
the lack of information that drives us crazy. hello, we are in the
information age!!!

and it doesn't help at all, that steve has the coolest and most
fashionable products in the universe, when we sit in front of them
waiting for information about our most beloved programming platform
(well in my case). the jdk doesn't need to be opensourced (although i
welcome this of course), but at least it needs to be updated and kept
state-of-the art (jdk 1.6). or i want the information, that apple
computers inc. doesn't have the resources to maintain java on its
platform. then it's time for me/us to say goodbye and move to another
os.

but i guess leopard will bring the jdk 1.6 and we all have to pay for
it, if we want to use it...

disappointed, but at least owner of a swanky pc ... eeerm ... mac!
