Re: porting OpenJDK to OS X




Obviously trying to make a native port to OS X would be hard; but perhaps the amount of code that would need to be ported it far reduced if instead a X11 based port was attempted instead.


I am not sure how much effort it take to port a X11 Linux/Solaris app to OS X/X11 is; but I would guess it would be less than 4 man years. Of course if you are talking about PPC then it would be harder to port hotspot.

Not that I have any time to even start looking at the moment,
