So the bug still happens in Java 1.5 on Leopard? I recall this being
fixed but I could be thinking about 1.6 like you mentioned. If you
haven't already, please test Java 1.5 on Leopard and file a bug if it
still exists.

implementation and Apple told me that solution is coming in 1.6
They recommended to test Leopard and so I did and indeed the bug was
fixed in 1.6 in Leopard.
So I expect Apple to deliver 1.6 because as it stands now Java sound
is broken and was promised that I will get the fix in 1.6
It has to do with the bug that playing sounds create hanging threads.
