In these days I'm seeing the same mantra repeated over and over and over... May be just do a reality check? So: was TimeMachine an unreleased product until a few days ago? Yes, it was. But we knew a lot about it, most of all that it was due for Leopard, since several months now. Apple did communicate a lot about it by means of public channels. Period. So, why a f**ed announce about Java 6 is so hard?

For what concern Job's statement, it's something that I find appalling. I personally think that the quoted sentence was ambiguous (yes, he was talking about the iPhone, but "nobody uses Java" referred to a mobile phone is just plain nonsense, even a child knows the spread of Java in that area) - but, genuine or not, when a public statement is ambiguous or gets misinterpreted, it's common practice to have it rectified or corrected or whatever. So, in the Java field either Apple is communicating in one of the worst imaginable ways (I find it hard to believe that such a large company is unable to communicate properly) or it's following a deliberate communication strategy  (I'm more inclined to this).
