What happens if one installs the Java6DP1 on a Leopard 9A581 system?
Is the trouble only with upgrading, or even on a clean 9A581 install the DP breaks stuff?

The old Tiger Developer Previews (DP1-DP6) will not install on Leopard. And even if the installer did let you install it, Java 6 would fail to run. If it doesn't crash on launch, it'll crash when bringing up a GUI.
