Re: native lib problem in leopard

The output of file claims that its a PPC jnilib. You're running that on PPC and not Intel, right?

Also, your jnilib depends on the following two files. Do you still have them? And if so check their dependencies using otool -L.

/opt/ooRexx/lib/ooRexx/librexx.3
/opt/ooRexx/lib/ooRexx/librexxapi.3

Do you set DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH before running your program? Do you have ~/.MacOSX/environment.plist that contains DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH?

And is this a standalone java app that you're running from the command line or a double clickable?

Scott,

that wasn't it, unfortunately. Also (Doug), there is nothing on the console log; being raised on MVS I always run with that in plain view.
I have to sleep but will try to trace tomorrow. Thanks all for your help.

best regards,

René.

I think you've found the problem. Try changing it back to verify.

I've been bitten by this in the past.

Pratik,

seeing the output of the commands you let me execute:

might the fact that I rename the library after building from .dylib to .jnilib have something to do with it?

Some questions.

- Which version of 10.4 were you on before you upgraded?
- Can you run

$ file /opt/ooRexx/lib/libBSF4Rexx.jnilib
$ otool -L /opt/ooRexx/lib/libBSF4Rexx.jnilib
