| If I had to guess - this sounds to me like there are some assumptions you have made about the transform applied to a graphics context that you are getting from outside of your code. Perhaps you are restoring the transform to unity somewhere in your code instead of restoring the saved state or something like that. I mention this because you specifically wrote that you were doing some rendering to a double size image and also that in some cases you need to halve your values...
