Not that I'm an expert. I had the same problem with cyberduck. I was solved after changing Java settings to run Java 5. Did you try that? And did you check the Console to see if there were messages there? That is how I found out about my problem.

I reported it to Apple as bug 6201937. It is not just NetBeans either.
