I have been reporting these issues for some time. Feedback from Apple
(on this list) does not encourage a belief that Apple will devote
engineering to the problem(s). I now have quite a few users who are
obliged to "show package contents" and then double click the jar
file. Sorry (happy?) to say that my Windows users are not faced with
this kind of thing.
