Given the stated direction of Snow Leopard and that Java 6 is Intel
64-bit currently I think it is highly unlikely any further _new_
development will happen on the 32-bit Java front or PowerPC front.
Java 5 and Java 1.4.2 cover the needs of a vast majority of Apple's
users that are on 32-bit or PowerPC systems, expanding Java 6 support
would add little value to these folks. Now some segments of the market
are going to more negatively affected by this then others (education
with limited budgets and developers with limited budgets come to
mind).
