hmmm... to test this beta you need to install it and lose the old
version.
So if it breaks stuff you need, then you need to reinstall OS X get
back to
the old version that works. I wonder how many eyeballs look at the
beta
releases.
Just in case you don't know... You can have multiple partitions (or
systems) with different OS versions installed and/or developer
previews installed. Really it is in your interest to always have a
setup like this so you can replicate failures reported by customers as
well as test against developer previews.
First, I develop server-side apps for unix/linux and occasionally
windows. This allows me to run whatever java version I need. I wish I
could run the latest on my dev machine. But, I can still compile on
linux or the server, so...
Do you think it is a plus to lop off a chunk(s) of your hard drive
just to test java for the mac?
Seriously, though, you don't see a problem with this?
